History of the Air Fryer Pakoras:

Pakoras are a popular Indian snack made with a combination of vegetables, spices, and besan (chickpea flour) that are deep fried to create crispy fritters. However, with the growing health consciousness, a healthier alternative to deep-frying was needed. This led to the creation of the air fryer pakoras, which are just as delicious and crispy as the traditional version but with less oil and fewer calories.

Tips and Tricks for Air Fryer Pakoras Recipe:

  1. To ensure that the mixture for the pakoras is not too wet, do not overmix the batter. The mixture should be firm and sticky enough to form into small patties.

  2. The size and shape of the pakoras can vary depending on your preference. You can make them into small bite-sized balls or larger patties.

  3. When air frying the pakoras, make sure to not overcrowd the basket, as this will prevent them from cooking properly and becoming crispy.

  4. Be sure to flip the pakoras halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.

Tips for presenting the dish:

  1. Serve the air fryer pakoras while they are still hot and crispy. Sprinkle some chopped fresh cilantro on top to add some color and freshness.

  2. Whip up a simple yogurt dipping sauce by mixing together some plain yogurt, chopped cilantro, and a pinch of salt. This will help balance the flavors and add some creaminess to the dish.

  3. For an extra pop of color and flavor, serve the pakoras with some lemon wedges and tamarind chutney. The tartness of the lemon and the sweetness of the chutney will complement the spice of the pakoras perfectly.
