One of the most popular, light, delicious dishes of North Indian cuisine is “Matar Paneer”. This dish is made from paneer cheese, an aromatic tomato sauce with onions and green peas. Spices give this dish a unique taste.
- green peas : 1 pack (canned green peas)
- paneer : 300 g
- red onion : 3 piece
- tomatoes : 300 g
- garlic : 1 clove
- oil : 4 Tbsp
- butter : 2 Tbsp
- chili pepper : 1 tsp
- Powdered coriander : 1 tsp
- cumin powder : 1 tsp
- curry : 1 tsp
- coriander leaves : 3 Tbsp
- cardamom pods : 1 piece
- salt : 1 tsp
- sugar : 1 tsp
Stages of cooking
Chop onion and garlic, cook it on the frying pan with 2Tbs of oil until onion becomes golden.
Add chopped tomatoes and stew under the lid.
When tomatoes become a smooth sauce, mash it with blender.
Add all spices, butter salt and sugar.
Add chopped paneer and green peas.
Serve with rice, chicken or like a separate dish. Bon appetit!
