This spinach salad is different and so easy to make. Everyone I have made this for raves about it!

Ingredients

  • butter : 1 Tbsp
  • almonds, blanched and slivered : 0.75 cup
  • spinach, rinsed and torn into bite-size pieces : 1 pound
  • dried cranberries : 1 cup
  • vegetable oil : 0.5 cup
  • white sugar : 0.5 cup
  • cider vinegar : 0.25 cup
  • white wine vinegar : 0.25 cup
  • toasted sesame seeds : 2 Tbsp
  • poppy seeds : 1 Tbsp
  • minced onion : 2 tsp
  • paprika : 0.25 tsp

Stages of cooking

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir almonds in butter until lightly toasted. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Make dressing: Whisk together oil, sugar, cider vinegar, white wine vinegar, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, minced onion, and paprika in a medium bowl.
  3. Combine spinach with toasted almonds and cranberries in a large serving bowl. Pour dressing over spinach mixture; toss well. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios
