This dish involves all the ingredients that are included into traditional oatmeal. However, it is cooked in a different way, which makes the dish taste as a real dessert. Oatmeal brulee with ginger cream is an ideal dish to be cooked for breakfast, lunch and even supper!  

Ingredients

  • cream: 200 ml (33%)
  • ginger: 2 piece (fresh; slices)
  • cinnamon sticks: 1 piece
  • vanilla sticks: 0.5 piece
  • orange zest: 0.5 piece
  • honey: 2 Tbsp
  • water: 4 cup
  • oat-flakes: 2 cup
  • cherry: 0.3 cup (dried)
  • brown sugar: 3 Tbsp
  • butter: 2 Tbsp
  • berries: 1 cup (any you like)
  • sugar: 1.4 cup

  1. Pour the cream into a pot, add orange zest, 2 ginger slices, half of cinnamon and vanilla sticks. Boil on small fire for 5-7 minutes.

  2. Sift the cream, add honey and stir the sauce.

  3. Now, cook the oatmeal. Boil water and add oat flakes.

  4. Add salt, dried cherries and cook for 2 minutes.

  5. Remove the pot from fire, add sugar and half of ginger cream. Stir the oatmeal and leave for 5 minutes on the table.

  6. Take the server and put the berries on the bottom of it.

  7. Then spoon the oatmeal.

  8. Dredge the oatmeal with brown sugar and place into the oven for about 7 minutes until the sugar becomes caramelized.
