Ingredients

  • pasta: 200 g (angel hair pasta will work best here)
  • shrimp: 400 g (raw, peeled and deveined)
  • tomatoes: 4 piece (medium-sized)
  • garlic: 3 clove (minced)
  • basil: 0.3 cup (fresh and torn into pieces)
  • olive oil: 3 Tbsp
  • salt: 0.5 tsp (to your taste)
  • black pepper: 1 pinch (to your taste)

  1. Take a large pot and fill it with water. Bring the water to a boil. Take a knife and make long cuts on the tomatoes.

  2. As soon as the water starts boiling, put the tomatoes into the pot and blanch them for about 40-50 seconds. Then take them away from the pot using a slotted spoon and put them into the icy water you should prepare in advance. Peel off the skins and cut the tomatoes into halves. Squeeze the juice and seeds from them and chop the tomatoes afterwards. Don’t get rid of the water you used for blanching.

  5. Now, add garlic, chopped tomatoes and basil. Season with salt and keep cooking for a few minutes. Then remove the pan from fire.

  6. Bring the water you’ve used for blanching to a boil once again, add salt and cook pasta in it. Stick to the cooking recommendations specified on the package.
