- salt : 0.5 tsp
- butter : 2 Tbsp
- onion : 1.5 cup (finely chopped)
- garlic : 4 clove (minced)
- red pepper flakes : 0.25 tsp
- crushed tomatoes : 1 can
- vodka : 0.25 cup
- heavy whipping cream : 6 Tbsp
- lemon zest : 1 tsp
- shrimp : 450 g (peeled and deveined)
- parsley : 3 Tbsp (chopped)
- black pepper : 0.5 tsp (freshly ground)
Stages of cooking
Take a large pot, add salt and boil the water. Meanwhile, take another deep pot with thick bottom and melt butter in it. Add the onion and sauté for about 5-7 minutes. Then reduce the fire and add red pepper flakes, garlic and keep cooking for about one minute more.
Now, add crushed tomatoes, vodka (or any other alcoholic beverage you like), lemon zest and cream. Simmer the ingredients.
As soon as the sauce starts simmering, add pasta to the boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes.
Taste the pasta and add more salt if needed. Taste the sauce and add raw and deveined shrimps to it. Cook for about 5 minutes more and remove the pot from heat.
Strain the pasta and serve it with the sauce! Sprinkle with parsley and ground black pepper! Enjoy!
