This recipe has recently attracted my attention by the unusual combination of ingredients, which are also a great choice for vegetarians. As far as I’m a vegetarian as well, I decided to cook the dish and this is how it looked! Hopefully, you will have the desire to cook it as well!

Ingredients

  • potato: 500 g
  • pasta: 250 g (or short spaghetti)
  • hard cheese: 200 g
  • cream: 100 ml
  • milk: 150 ml
  • onion: 1 piece (large)
  • oil: 2 Tbsp
  • salt: 0.5 tsp
  • black pepper: 1 pinch
  • nutmeg: 0.3 tsp

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into medium-sized cubes. Pour hot water into the pot, add salt and boil for 15-20 minutes.

  2. Grate the cheese.

  3. Boil milk and cream, add half of the grated cheese and let it melt.

  4. Add salt, black pepper and nutmeg with regard to your taste.

  5. Add short spaghetti or pasta to the potatoes and keep boiling for 5-7 minutes more. Then strain the water.

  6. Oil the baking form and put the layers of boiled potatoes, spaghetti or pasta. Then pour the cream and cheese sauce above. Dredge with the rest of the cheese. Bake in the pre-heated oven for about 10 minutes.

  7. Cut the onion into circles and fry until it becomes golden. Put the onion circles above the casserole.
