Fire up succulent blackened salmon with an exciting blend of Cajun-style spices!

Ingredients

  • ground paprika: 2 Tbsp
  • ground cayenne pepper: 1 Tbsp
  • onion powder: 1 Tbsp
  • salt: 2 tsp
  • ground white pepper: 0.5 tsp
  • ground black pepper: 0.5 tsp
  • thyme: 0.25 tsp (dried)
  • basil: 0.25 tsp (dried)
  • oregano: 0.25 tsp (dried)
  • salmon fillets, skin and bones removed: 4 piece
  • unsalted butter: 0.5 cup (melted)

  1. Mix paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, white and black pepper, thyme, basil, and oregano together in a small bowl.

  2. Brush salmon fillets on both sides with 1/4 cup butter, and sprinkle evenly with the spice mixture.

  3. Heat 2 tablespoons melted butter in a large, heavy skillet over high heat. Add salmon and cook until blackened, 2 to 5 minutes.
