My mom made this sausage breakfast casserole for us on Christmas morning. We still look forward to eating it every year. It's meaty, cheesy, and delicious — everyone enjoys it!

Ingredients

  • ground pork sausage: 1 pound
  • mustard powder: 1 tsp
  • salt: 0.5 tsp
  • eggs: 4 piece (beaten)
  • milk: 2 cups
  • slices white bread, toasted and: 6 piece (cut into cubes)
  • ounces mild Cheddar cheese: 8 piece (shredded)

  1. Crumble sausage into a medium skillet. Cook over medium heat until evenly brown; drain. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios

  2. In a medium bowl, mix together mustard powder, salt, eggs and milk. Add the sausage, bread cubes, and cheese, and stir to coat evenly. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios

  3. Pour into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Cover, and chill in the refrigerator for 8 hours, or overnight. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios

  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cover, and bake 45 to 60 minutes.
