This crab fried rice is very easy and so popular in Thai and Chinese cuisines. Try this recipe, and you'll find it has a very nice taste. Serve with chili in fish sauce (called nam pla prik in Thai). Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cups water: 1 piece
  • uncooked long grain white rice: 0.66667 cup
  • vegetable oil: 3 Tbsp
  • medium onions: 2 piece (cut into wedges)
  • garlic: 3 clove (chopped)
  • salt: 2 tsp
  • 1/2 teaspoons white sugar: 1 piece
  • egg: 1 piece (beaten)
  • crabmeat: 0.25 pound (cooked)
  • green onions: 3 piece (chopped)
  • cilantro: 1 Tbsp (chopped)
  • cucumber: 0.5 piece (sliced)
  • lime: 1 piece (sliced)

  1. Place water and rice in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until water is absorbed, about 20 minutes. Set aside.

  2. Heat oil in a wok over medium heat. Cook and stir onions and garlic in hot oil until tender. Mix in cooked rice, salt, and sugar; cook, stirring occasionally, until well blended, about 5 minutes. Stir in beaten egg until rice is coated. Increase heat to high and mix in crabmeat, green onions, and cilantro. Cook and stir until crab is heated through, 2 to 5 minutes. Garnish with cucumber and lime slices to serve.
