Cranberry sauce tastes great with turkey. It is impossible to imagine Thanksgiving without these two dishes. This, however, does not mean that you cannot serve cranberry sauce with chicken or meat dishes. This recipe is easy to cook and contains several ingredients only.
- sugar : 200 g
- water : 250 ml
- cranberries : 4 cup (fresh or frozen)
Stages of cooking
Prior to cooking the sauce, rinse cranberries well. If there are any bruised or spoiled berries, throw them away. Now, take a medium-sized pot, pour water inside and add sugar. Boil the water on high heat and stir well to make sure the sugar is properly dissolved.
Add cranberries and keep boiling the sauce for about 10 minutes until the cranberries burst.
If you decide to use optional ingredients, it is high time to add them. You can add pecans, orange zest, raisins, currants, blueberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice.
Turn the fire off now and let your cranberry sauce cool down. Pour it into another bowl and put into the fridge until it becomes dense.
