I love the corn dogs you buy at carnivals but wanted to make them at home so I created this easy batter for frankfurters. Great served with mustard.

Ingredients

  • yellow cornmeal: 1 cup
  • all-purpose flour: 1 cup
  • white sugar: 0.25 cup
  • baking powder: 4 tsp
  • salt: 0.25 tsp
  • black pepper: 0.125 tsp
  • milk: 1 cup
  • egg: 1 piece
  • vegetable oil for frying: 1 quart
  • beef frankfurters: 2 packages (16 ounce packages)
  • wooden skewers: 0 piece
