Mango Salsa is a delicious, colorful and refreshing dip made with ripe mangoes, red onions and bell peppers, flavored with jalapeño chili, cilantro and lime juice.
This fresh and tangy salsa is really easy to make and goes very well as a dip along with tortilla chips. This tongue tingling salsa can be used as a side dish or topping for other Mexican dishes like Quesadilla, Burrito, Nachos etc.
The salsa tastes best when made using sweet and juicy mangoes. You can skip adding Jalapeño to the salsa to reduce the heat, or if making it for kids.

  2. Sprinkle salt and black pepper on it. Add fresh lime juice for a tangy refreshing taste and garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Toss to ensure that ingredients mix well. If the salsa is too spicy or tangy, you can add more more mangoes and little-bit of salt to balance it out.

History: Mango salsa is a fusion of Mexican and tropical flavors. It is believed to have originated in Mexico, where it has been a popular dip for centuries. With the addition of sweet and juicy mangoes, the flavor profile of the traditional salsa was elevated, making it a perfect blend of spicy and sweet flavors.

Tips and Tricks:

  1. Choose ripe and juicy mangoes for the salsa. Unripe mangoes will make the salsa sour and unpleasant.
  2. Use fresh ingredients for a flavorful and aromatic salsa. It is recommended to use fresh cilantro, lime juice, and jalapeños.
  3. Handle jalapeños carefully while chopping, avoid touching the seeds as they are very spicy.
  4. Adjust the amount of jalapeño chili according to your preference. If you cannot handle the spiciness, remove the seeds and ribs of the chili before adding it to the salsa.
  5. Let the flavors of the salsa blend together for at least 10-15 minutes before serving. This will help the ingredients to meld together, giving the salsa a better taste.

Tips for presenting the dish:

  1. Serve the mango salsa in a colorful bowl to enhance its visual appeal.
  2. Garnish the salsa with fresh coriander leaves for a pop of color.
  3. Serve the salsa alongside tortilla chips, or use it as a topping for different Mexican dishes like burritos, quesadillas, or nachos.
  4. Add the salsa to a charcuterie board or serve it with grilled meats and seafood for a refreshing and fruity accompaniment.
