This recipe was given to me from my grandmother. She always served these at picnics. They are perfect on a hot summer day!

Ingredients

  • cucumbers: 8 cups (peeled and sliced)
  • onion: 1 piece (sliced)
  • salt: 2 Tbsp
  • ½ cups white sugar: 1 piece
  • white vinegar: 0.5 cup

  1. Combine cucumbers, onion, and salt in a bowl filled with water. Refrigerate until vegetables are softened, about 2 hours; drain.

  2. Combine sugar and vinegar in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; cool to room temperature. Pour liquid over cucumber mixture. Freeze until frozen, 1 to 2 hours.
