Tinga is a Mexican dish of tender shredded chicken in a spicy tomato and chipotle chile sauce served on crunchy tostada shells. This recipe is easy to make and great for feeding a crowd!

Ingredients

  • olive oil: 2 Tbsp
  • onion: 1 piece (diced)
  • stewed tomatoes: 1 can (15 ounce can)
  • chipotle peppers in adobo sauce: 1 can (7 ounce can, to taste)
  • cooked chicken meat: 2 pound (shredded)
  • tostada shells: 16 piece
  • sour cream: 0.5 cup

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, purée stewed tomatoes and chipotle peppers in adobo sauce in a blender.
