Spinach cottage cheese curry is a dish, which is popular in the North India. You can eat it as an appetizer or a snack, but it is also possible to cook it as a side dish or a main dish. The cooking time does not take it longer than 15 minutes. This Indian dish is healthy and easy to cook. So, try it right away!
- spinach : 1 bunch
- cottage cheese : 200 g (paneer)
- cumin seeds : 1 Tbsp
- onion : 1 piece (sliced)
- tomatoes : 1 piece (finely chopped)
- green chilies : 1 piece (finely chopped)
- garlic : 1 Tbsp (smashed)
- Powdered coriander : 1 Tbsp
- turmeric powder : 0.25 tsp
- garam masala : 1 Tbsp
- salt : 0.5 tsp (to your taste)
- oil : 1 Tbsp
- sugar : 0.5 tsp
- ghee : 2 Tbsp
- water : 1 Tbsp (or as much as needed)
Stages of cooking
Take paneer and cut it into several triangles.
Shallow fry them afterwards.
Wash the spinach and boil it until it becomes soft. Then grind it in a mixer.
Take a frying pan and heat oil and ghee in it. Add chopped onion, salt, cumin seeds and garlic. Sauté the ingredients together until they become soft.
Now, add tomato, green chili and turmeric powder. Keep sautéing for several minutes more.
Then add coriander powder and mix the ingredients. After that, add spinach puree and mix once again. Add water if needed.
The next step is adding chili powder, sugar and garam masala. Mix all the ingredients one more time.
Finally, add lemon juice and fried paneer mix. Turn off the heat and serve hot with rice or chapatti. Enjoy!
