  • peeled Granny Smith apples: 4 cups (sliced)
  • water: 1 Tbsp
  • lemon juice: 1 tsp
  • white sugar: 1 cup
  • all-purpose flour: 0.75 cup
  • ground cinnamon: 0.5 tsp
  • ground nutmeg: 0.25 tsp
  • salt: 0.25 tsp
  • unsalted butter: 0.5 cup (cut into small pieces, cold)

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
