This hash brown casserole is absolutely the best hash brown dish I've ever had. It's my friend's grandma's recipe. Kentucky grandmas sure know how to cook!

Ingredients

  • frozen hash brown potatoes: 1 pack (2 pound pack, thawed)
  • condensed cream of chicken soup: 1 can (10.5 ounce can)
  • cheddar cheese: 2 cups (shredded)
  • sour cream: 1 container (8 ounce container)
  • butter: 1 cup (melted, divided)
  • onion: 0.5 cup (chopped)
  • salt: 0.5 tsp
  • ground black pepper: 0.5 tsp
  • cornflakes: 1 cup (crushed)
