I grew up eating this boiled ham dinner on Sundays when I visited my Irish granny. One thing that makes this recipe special is that it calls for a smoked ham or smoked pork shoulder instead of corned beef. A yummy smell will fill your kitchen as this cooks!

Ingredients

  • smoked boneless ham or smoked pork shoulder: 3 pound
  • salt and pepper: (to taste)
  • potatoes: 6 piece (peeled)
  • head cabbage, quartered: 1 piece
  • onions, quartered: 2 piece
  • carrots, cut in half: 0.5 pound
  • green beans: 1 pound (trimmed, fresh)
