Savory and spicy, this mayo-based mackerel dip is made with canned mackerel.

  • mackerel: 1 can (15 ounce can, drained and rinsed)
  • onion: 1 piece (diced)
  • tomato-based hot pepper sauce: 0.25 cup
  • salt: 2 tsp (to taste)
  • ground black pepper: 1 tsp (to taste)
  • mayonnaise: 1 cup

  1. Remove and discard mackerel skin and bones. In a medium bowl, mix mackerel with onion and hot pepper sauce with a fork, breaking it into small pieces. Mix in mayonnaise, then season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
