This avocado salsa verde may be the perfect summer condiment. It requires no cooking, only takes 10 to 15 minutes to make, looks gorgeous, and tastes amazing with anything grilled — and even most things that aren't. Spoon this spectacularly simple green sauce over grilled pork tacos or grilled meats, or serve it with chips.

Ingredients

  • ounces fresh tomatillos - husked, rinsed, and: 6 piece (halved)
  • ripe avocado - halved, seeded, and flesh scooped out of the peel: 1 piece
  • packed cilantro leaves: 0.25 cup
  • lime: 0.5 piece (juiced)
  • serrano Chili pepper: 1 Tbsp (to taste, thinly sliced)
  • salt: (to taste)

  1. Place tomatillos into a food processor. Add avocado, cilantro, lime juice, serrano pepper, and salt. Process until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning, then transfer to a serving bowl.
