Ingredients

  • butter: 0.25 cup
  • confectioners' sugar: 1 pound
  • sweetened condensed milk: 1 cup
  • flaked coconut: 2 cups
  • (1-ounce) squares semisweet chocolate: 9 piece
  • shortening: 2 Tbsp

  1. Mix butter, confectioners' sugar, and sweetened condensed milk together in a medium bowl; mix in coconut.

  2. Roll dough into 1 inch balls; refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.

  3. Melt chocolate and shortening over a double boiler, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat when melted, and stir to make sure the shortening is fully incorporated.
