This homemade eggnog, spiked with rum and Scotch, will fill you with glee. Perfect for the holiday season!

Ingredients

  • half-and-half: 4 cups
  • white sugar: 1 cup
  • egg yolks: 11 piece (beaten)
  • vanilla extract: 1 tsp
  • heavy cream: 2 cups
  • dark rum: 0.66667 cup
  • Scotch whiskey: 0.5 cup
  • pint vanilla ice cream: 1 piece

  1. In a saucepan over low heat, stir together the half-and-half and sugar. Whisk in egg yolks and cook until light custard forms; do not boil. Remove from heat and cool, then place in refrigerator and chill overnight.
