This Irish tea cake is a simple butter cake that's great with tea or coffee. It's easy to make, pretty, and very delicious.

Ingredients

  • white sugar: 1 cup
  • butter: 0.5 cup (softened)
  • eggs: 2 piece
  • ½ teaspoons vanilla extract: 1 piece
  • ¾ cups all-purpose flour: 1 piece
  • baking powder: 2 tsp
  • salt: 0.5 tsp
  • milk: 0.5 cup (if needed)
  • confectioners' sugar for dusting: 0.25 cup

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round pan.

  2. Cream sugar and butter together in a mixing bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
