Deep-fried mushrooms are an irresistible party appetizer and a great snack during the big game.

Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour: 1 cup
  • garlic salt: 1 tsp
  • water: 1 cup
  • egg: 1 piece
  • oil for frying: 2 cups (or as needed)
  • button mushrooms, quartered: 1 pound

  1. Stir flour and garlic salt together in a medium bowl. Mix in water and egg until smooth.

  2. Heat oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat until a drop of batter will sizzle and float to the top.
